This week has been stressful. I have a bunch of family things going on that I'm not sure how I feel about. I've been sick for like a whole year now, I just conquered the flu and pneumonia and asthma stuff. Then, I had this terrible toothache! I'm still in the procession of visits to the dentist that are required for the root canal :(
On top of all that, I got a call from the nurse practitioner at my OB's office. My pap smear had come back abnormal. Definitely not what you like hearing. They'd found abnormal cells that they'd first believed to be HPV. That test was negative though. I figured it would be. I've only ever been with one man, and we were each other's firsts - a lot of people don't believe that, but it's true! So, then the suspicion moved on to pre-cancer cells. The type of cell specifically told to me was: atypical squamos cells.
The doctor is taking a 'wait and see' approach. I'm not sure if I'm on board with that approach or not. They told me just to wait until my next scheduled visit or until I become pregnant, whichever comes first. It's had me all worked up all week.
Then, I was 7 days late on my cycle! So... you know what was running through my head! Although, again, I figured it would be negative, because we do use protection and I use an ovulation kit! I know that sometimes there are freak accidents even with people who are very careful and it just happens. Plus, my timing might not be the Big Guy's timing. However, I am not pregnant yet :)
I'm only a few months away from trying though! It's so surreal. It just won't be real to me until I am actually pregnant, and even then I'm not sure how long it'll take to actually sink in. Ha!
I have to see the asthma/allergy specialist to get meds and things worked out and on April 16th I'm seeing the Maternal/Fetal 'counseling' doctor. That's what they keep calling it anyway. I think it'll basically be another Q&A. He'll also be informing me on how to prepare my body for pregnancy and things to make sure I'm doing/not doing during early stages of pregnancy, as well as, going through my medicines with me too!
We've got a bunch of house projects coming up as part of our preparation for the new addition! It's bittersweet. I'm ready for some of them to just be finished because I know they'll look amazing! Oy, but the journey to getting them finished will not be my idea of a good time.
