Even when I look at other people's pictures I wonder about the story behind the captured moment. No matter how insignificant it may seem, something's always playing out in my head.
This picture:
We'd just shared in the responsibility of feeding Nolan some sweet potatoes. We'd laughed at his initial eagerness at the beginning of his meal, and again towards the end of it when he'd lost interest. We mused at his talent in getting the orange paste everywhere. One of us wiped down the baby while the other wiped down the highchair tray.
While I finished cleaning up the kitchen, Nolan sat happily on his daddy's lap.
He's at that stage where's he's fascinated with just about anything and the smallest of things can hold his attention. Our hands, are just so interesting to him. He'll watch them and reach for them, once he's got a good grip on them he tries to get them in his mouth.
I took a small break from loading the dishwasher to watch as Nolan's tiny fingers reached and gripped at Cory's hands, and as Cory watched Nolan with a seemingly similar fascination.
Then I grabbed the camera and snapped this picture.
What a sweet memory entangled in such an mundane moment.
The two loves of my life, just chillin. The love between them is evident in their interactions and it makes my heart swell with adoration every time I stop and soak up that realization.
