The First Cycle

I thought I'd be happier when my  monthly visitor came this month, because it marks the first day of the cycle that we will try to get pregnant in.

I recently found out, after a series of doctor visits and tests, that I have a lot of small cysts on my ovaries. This was discovered after experiencing a moderate amount of lower back pain that I was absolutely convinced resulted from kidney stones or something kidney related. However, the doc doesn't seem to think so. I just don't believe it's caused from the cysts, because it's not like they showed up over night. I've probably had them for months if not years. Then all the sudden this back pain shows up as a result of the cysts?

I just don't want something to be wrong with something else - like my kidneys - that maybe I should be aware of before getting pregnant. Though, again, doc doesn't think so. I'm told to proceed as planned.

This morning when I woke up to the sharp stabbing cramps that flowed all the way around my lower back, hip, and pelvis area I was not excited for my cycle to start. I rolled out of bed, hobbled to get some medicine, and then fetched myself a heat pad and sat curled up on my couch for an hour before the pain eased.

They say birth control pills would help, but clearly that's not an option for me right now. I don't want to do that anyway. I've been off of birth control pills for 5 years. I don't like the side effects they have on your body and besides that they tried like 4 different kinds on me before we settled on one. I just want to avoid them if I can - and I can.

However, on a more excitable note this is the month! This is the cycle! I can't believe it's finally here, so longly anticipated and planned for! Since the first day of the cycle has arrived, I can start making more concrete plans.

Oh my goodness, it has went form anticipated to happening. Let's see how this works out for us on the first try. By the end of this month… I could be pregnant! AAHHH! :)
