35 Week Checkup

Back in to the OB I went today. Turns out those Braxton Hicks I've been having, with the additional hardness and pressure are contractions returning. But, he agreed that I probably can't be on the Procardia as much as I need to be because of the reaction I had. He said he'd leave it up to me if I wanted to try taking it as needed.

I'm still dilated to about 1.5-2cm (yay for no more progress there), with more head engagement than last week though. He said since I've started swelling I need to stay off of my feet as much as possible. He recommended I leave work at 36 weeks (which is next week). But if things just hang out where they are, I think I'm just keeping my last day for February 22nd, it's just a few more weeks away anyway.

He's worried about the contractions if I can't be on the Procardia, but there's only so much you can do.

Bless his heart, he mentioned inducing me at 37 weeks today if I don't go before then. His main argument for that is because I'm a high risk pregnancy and all of these early labor things are signs that my body's under stress and/or the baby. I told him I didn't want to be induced unless there was an immediate need to do so (in relationship to the baby). As long as Nolan is fine... I can make myself fine.

At 35 weeks, I finally hit the 20 pound mark. It's bittersweet. Bitter for me, sweet for the doc. Though, he's guessing a few pounds of that is swelling. Seriously, you should see my feet and ankles. They look so strange. It's becoming a challenge to wear socks and I only have like one pair of shoes that I can comfortably wear. Ugh.

At the last ultrasound Nolan was still measuring small at 4 pounds, 13 ounces. But, his growth had improved significantly. Two ultrasounds ago he was measuring in the 16th percentile, then he was in the 21st, at this most recent one he was in the 30th. So, we have another ultrasound schedule for 37 weeks.

Same song and dance next week. I'll keep you posted.
