20 weeks

(Isn't this crazy?! I can still hardly believe I'm actually pregnant.
Also, just noticed the zoom is different. Drats. Thought I took good notes too.)

About the baby:

You're halfway there! Week 20! Your baby has grown significantly from that first dividing cell and now weighs about 11 ounces and measures about 7.2 inches from crown to rump (or 10-12 inches crown to toe). The baby is taking up increasing room in your uterus, and continued growth will put pressure on your lungs, stomach, bladder, and kidneys. Fun times.

Under the vernix caseosa (a protective, waxy coating), your baby's skin is thickening and developing layers.

The baby's digestive system is underway and gearing up as your baby regularly swallows amniotic fluid now.

As you know, you're getting bigger everyday. Your uterus is stretching to accommodate the rapid growth from your little bean to your little being. Your uterus is not at the approximate level of your belly button, and is why your bump is definitely more pronounced.

Good news mom, you can expect to gain about 1 pound per week from here on out until delivery - an approximation of the 'average,' of course. Nonetheless, expect some weight gain, if you were at a normal weight before the pregnancy.

I cannot believe I am half way through this pregnancy!!! Whoa, where has the time gone?! I feel like I just found out myself! I feel like I've just barely announced it! It's crazy how fast this is going by.

I've been feeling really good. A little cranky, but I think that has more to do with some stresses in my life than it does with the pregnancy hormones. Though… maybe I'm feeling more stressed because of the hormones. Who knows…

My bump seems about the same size as last week to me. I'm still not feeling much baby movement. Just some things here and there. Everyone - including nurse practitioner - keeps assuring me this is normal and that with my first pregnancy I could expect strong, consistent baby movement anywhere between week 18 and week 22. #shrug

Cory did get to feel the baby move though and that was super awesome! We were laying on the couch watching a movie and I'd noticed more movement than I usually do, so I grabbed Cory's hand and left it in the spot I'd been feeling my little vibrations from for a bit and finally he felt it! It was pretty cute.

We're suppose to have our anatomy scan ultrasound this Friday, but I did noticed a missed call from my doctor's office and that makes me nervous. They usually only call to cancel   :/   Hopefully that isn't the case!

As of last week I've been pretty much in maternity clothing. I still only have like 2 pair of maternity pants that are fitting me well though. The rest are still too saggy in the lower abdomen area, which is just super frustrating!

We've been getting the bigger things done in the nursery. Things that I'm definitely not going to want to do when I get bigger. With my OCD we probably should have expected me to have my nursery completely done before even starting the third trimester though  ;-)'

It'll be close. Hopefully I can quickly organize any gifts from showers soon after the shower. Aw! I can't wait for that! I love baby stuff! It's so cute!

I've been hunting down my own personal first outfit purchase - that's right, I haven't purchased a single piece of clothing yet! I actually found some pretty cute stuff in the mall recently! So tempting…

We ordered our rocker and crib bedding and have finally picked out some room decor for our theme. Whew. I was this close (very close) to just changing the theme. But, it seems like it'll work out now! :)

That's all I have for this week! :)
