Overall, it went well. He'd gained more weight and is up to 10 pounds, 10 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. I can still see my little 5 pound, 11 ounce, 18 inch long baby though. My tiny little baby. It's insane to me how fast he's growing and how big he looks to us now.
He was in the 25th percentile in weight, the 10th percentile in head circumference, and the 3rd percentile in height - which is still a little under ideal, but of course no longer worrisome. I guess the perfect 50th percentile is where the doc would like to see him be.
His reflux is still an issue. Sometimes it's really bad and other times it seems under control.
The doctor mentioned expressing some milk and mixing a bit of rice cereal in it to help thicken it and keep it down in the stomach a little better. I've had mixed feeling about this suggestion. I'd been dead-set on not introducing any type of solid foods until 4-6 months.
I got very angry at shots. Of course, he cried hysterically - turned red, held his breath... the whole bit. It was heartbreaking too, because it was a new kind of cry. One of pain.
So, after getting his 3 shots the nurse raises up and starts telling us about things to expect and says, "He's just more mad now than anything."
I wanted to scream at her. Why do medical staff say that? No, he's not just mad. He got a shot. It hurts. He's hurting. It was infuriating.
After about 5 minutes he had settled down and we got him dressed and got to leave. He was pretty sleepy after and napped. He woke up at about 11:00 o'clock that night screaming. When he gets upset he flails his arms and legs, which I know was just making it worse. It sucks that you can't tell a baby, "Hey, moving your legs makes it worse, Buddy."
That lasted about an hour. Seriously.
He seemed mostly over it the next day though, more fussy than usual, but okay.
This little boy is rolling over all the time now. When he's done with tummy time, he just flips on over. He can hold his entire upper body up for long spurts of time now while on his stomach too. What a big boy!
I absolutely adore his cooing. He'll "talk" to you pretty good now. It's so much fun how often he's making sounds now. I guess that'll be my next thing to try and capture on video ;)
Rolling over :)
Omnomnom, fist
He likes his hood
