22 Weeks

About the baby:

In week 22, the senses your baby will use to learn about the world are developing daily. Taste buds have started to form on the tongue, and the brain and nerve endings are formed enough so that the fetus can feel touch. Your baby may experiment with this newfound sense of touch by stroking his or her face or sucking on a thumb, as well as feeling other body parts and seeing how they move. Tooth buds are forming too. And your baby's body is covered with deep wrinkles that will slowly smooth out with the development of fat. Growing, growing, growing… would be your new residents theme if they had one.

Ah-man, I'd had such a lovely past few weeks. Then, I woke up feeling quite sickly this morning. I've had low grade fever, headache, severe body aches, coughing, sinuses, bad sore throat, and wheezing. Gah! I've discovered that being sick while you're pregnant is extra sucky. Lovebug seems to think so too, he's been moving around a lot today - maybe he's trying to make me feel better! :)

Which bring me to: I've been feeling him way more. However, still not as consistent as I'd imagined. I love how I'll feel little jabs starting in the left side of my abdomen work their way across to the right side. Also, when my bladder starts getting full I can always feel him more too.

Every single time I feel him, I just take a moment to smile and pray for him. He's so precious to me that I can't even describe it. I love my little bug so much it's crazy!

I can't believe that I just have 18 weeks remaining. Gosh, in like… just over 4 months I'll have him here!!! I cannot wait to kiss his little cheeks! Many, many kiss attacks are in order. Get ready for it, son.

His room is coming along nicely. It's about ready for 'stuff.' Our crib, changer/dresser, cube storage shelves, rocker, and closet kit are all finally finished. The last piece of furniture to go in is a little nightstand/table to go by the rocker.

Our first shower is coming up soon too! I can't wait! I also can't wait to start getting some of the room decor in there. So exciting.

Hopefully, I recover from this junk soon. If I'm not any better tomorrow, I'm heading to the doctor. #sigh
