(I have a little "baby pouch" that showed up overnight a few days ago, it's a little hard to tell from this angle I guess. Full side-view pics will come at the end of each trimester though :)
About the baby:
You're at week 11 and now your baby's growth is really going to pick up the pace. To accommodate all this growth, the blood vessels in the placenta are increasing in both size and number to provide the baby with more nutrients.
Facial development continues as the ears move toward their final position on the sides of the head. If you saw a picture of your baby now, you'd think you had a genius on your hands as the baby's head accounts for about half of the body length, but is amazing more proportional at about a 1:2 ratio with the rest of the body.
Although your baby's reproductive organs are developing rapidly, the external genitals of boys and girls still appear similar until the end of week 11, and they'll be clearly differentiated by week 14.
Those little fingers and toes are fully separated from their "flipper" like extensions into full hands and feet! How cute?
The nausea was really bad a few days this week. Ugh! Plus, yesterday I woke up super congested with a lot of sinus drainage and it was making me feel extra vomity all morning long.
The cramping hasn't been near as bad. The bladder pain is still coming and going though and it's such a frustrating discomfort ;|
The irritability isn't as consistent, maybe the hubs is thankful for that. I still find a lot of things really getting on my nerves that shouldn't. Like that bag of crumbles that I couldn't get opened yesterday. I seriously got angry because I couldn't open a bag… welcome to pregnancy, right? ;)
My jeans are fitting much tighter, and I do have a more distinguished little bump now. How exciting! It makes it more real!
I certainly feel pregnant, but there's still a distinct surreal feeling attached to everything about this for some reason.
Anyway, think I'll probably have to pick up a belly band soon.
My weight gain at this point is 1 pound. Yay! Doc told me anywhere between 3-5 pounds was what he'd like to see me to gain in the first trimester and I've got a few weeks left in my first trimester so I think I'll be good on that.
I start back to work in my classroom next Tuesday! It's bittersweet, I truly love my kiddos but I'm not looking forward to working all day if I still feel like this. I seriously tip my hat to pregnant ladies who've had to work throughout their entire pregnancies. It's been a wonderful blessing that I've got to be home for almost my entire first trimester!
