Hormonal Complaint of the Day:

If one more person sarcastically says something to me about enjoying the quiet and sleep now in preparation for many noisy sleepless nights to come… they're likely to get slapped. I understand, stuff like this is things that already-moms say sometimes. However, to me (personally) this one seems a little smug and mocking.

I mean, don't you think I considered the responsibilities of having a baby before I planned my pregnancy?! I'm sorry that - statistically - well over half of all pregnancies are unplanned, but even so - in my head - I picture those people sucking it up and doing what they have to do to be good parents. I realize that, unfortunately, that isn't always the case. But, just because you or someone else has felt that way about their life and their pregnancy and their baby... doesn't mean that's the norm.

I'm more than ready and willing to sacrifice things in my life to care for and raise my baby. That all went into my decision making process. It's part of why I've waited 6+ years into my marriage before trying…

It's like they try to make it sound like your life is ending because you're having a baby. I fully understand my life will change. I fully understand this is going to difficult and challenging. I also fully understand that it will be very rewarding and completely worthwhile. And my life certainly isn't ending. My vacations and fun things certainly aren't ending. Just instead of two, now there will be three.

Gah!

Vent over.
