It hasn't happened in exactly the most perfect way, but yesterday I had to go in for some blood work and I am indeed pregnant :) My HCG levels were normal, which I think surprised them - I think they were expecting them to be low or something.
Based on a doctor's calculation - since they calculate from the first day of your last period - I am 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant as of today and my due date is March 12, 2013.
Hilariously, I know within 3 days of when I conceived. My real due date based on that would be like March 15, 2013. So… the doctor's are very close ;)
The worry part of all of this is that I had to go get blood work because I'm having some symptoms that apparently aren't quite normal.
I thought that it was. I've been having some cramping that got a little more intense this past Tuesday (the day before we found out). I'd been ignoring it all together, because they sort of felt like week before cramps. I've always had pretty brutal first day cramping too, so it wasn't anything unbearable.
However, at least twice now the cramping has woken me up from sleep even and sporadically throughout the day it will be intense enough that I need to sit if I'm standing when it happens.
When I explained this to the lady that called me back from the doctor's office she put me through to a nurse practitioner right away.
My doctor's out of town until next week, so they haven't done much. However, the words ectopic pregnancy have come up more than I'd like to hear. Mainly because the pain seems to be concentrated more in my lower right abdomen and through my right side - instead of spread evenly across my pelvic area.
So… they are doing an internal ultrasound on me on Tuesday. She told me they won't be able to tell or really see anything with this ultrasound other than where the embryo has implanted at, which hopefully will be my uterus.
So worried! I'm trying not to stress, I'm putting faith in God. But, this is hard to deal with. I'm barely able to accept the reality that I'm actually pregnant. Let alone that something could be wrong.
I refuse to accept that though! The two people who are allowed to see this blog right now (lol), say a prayer for me :)
Lord, You are my God and I am Your child. Nothing is too big for You. Breathe life into this precious little soul that You've sent to us. A little soul that I'm just so in love with. Let he/she be exactly where they are suppose to and growing and developing perfectly. Amen.
